Silver Lining

Silver Lining

Greetings to one and all!

I am here to give my piece of writing a little recognition on this platform. A little background about the poem before you get started, I've met this wonderful person in my life, and I wanted to do a little something, because little things add up to become bigger things, right?

Thrown into a void

Where the beginning did not know where to end

And the ending never desired a beginning

A timeless place

Where the past weighed down the present

and made it still;

so the future was forever longed, but never granted

Gloom driven, I feared

Loosing the fight with the demons within

And drowning with the guilt

In the quicksand of silt

I closed my eyes foolishly

Untied the ties and freed myself

Just a breath away

Motionless, I lay

But there-

A beauty so real

A mourning soul, with a heart of pearl

A spark of acceptance, she did ignite

Made me realize, that well

I was not alone on the edge of hell

She held me upright, in a fairy’s guise-

The whole universe held in those eyes

And the voice of a nightingale, I can always recognise

She wore a smile, I could never despise

The reason of my woes’ demise

The one who led my fiery sunrise

And I'd also want to thank my Tau ji, for I was beyond unclear about my poem's title. The current title, 'Silver Lining' is a metaphor for optimism, which simply means that a negative occurence may have a positive aspect to it.

With this, I'll have to take my leave! I hope this poem can be relatable to some of you, and if not, I hope it can provide you with some sort of comfort and solace. Thank you :)
