A Watch by my Magician Dad
I remember this event that happened to me when I was about five, all of my friends were playing with some elder 'didis', and one of them wore a beautiful watch which my eyes caught the sparkle of.
I just couldn’t think of anything after that. All I wanted was that fancy wristwatch tied around my hand. When I asked one for myself, my mom said ask your dad, my dad said ‘you know I am an expert in making watches, I can make a magical one for you’. And I was so innocent and foolish that I unknowingly agreed to succumb to his trap. Thereby he began making my watch. He took a coin. Cut out the circular portion along it. Wrote the numbers from 1 to 12. Drew the hour hand and minute hand pointing the time as 10:10, god knows whether a.m. or p.m., but I presume it was a.m. as he made it in the morning. And stuck that ‘artifact’ to a string. I probably wouldn’t have experienced such a happy moment (of a watch that I own) before in my life ever. I showed it to everyone, and though the time never changed that was showing on the watch but it did change in my life where now I have a really beautiful watch but it no longer makes me as happy.
